I’ve been reading a blog for a few years now called Housewife Glamour and it is a fun website about relocating to Detroit from Florida, eating healthy and dancing for the Detroit Pistons. Heather and I actually worked together on The Singing Christmas Trees show a few years ago but we had never actually spoke (she was on the dancers team I was in the drama group.) I didn’t even know she had a blog. I came across it one day purely by accident and I immediately recognized her and have been following her ever since.
She has started a Friday Favorites post where every Friday, bloggers and writers post their favorite things to their sites. I am going to join in on the fun.
My Friday Favorites of the week:
1. Chobani flip and Chobani bites yogurt
I found these in my local Publix and they are the greatest little treat to slip inside my bag and take to work. As many of you know, I work very early morning hours on a TV show and I never have time for a decent breakfast. These Chobani yogurts are easy to eat on the go, filling, nutritious and delicious.
I love the Key Lime flavor with white chocolate chips and since I don’t drink coffee (despite my very early hours) I adore the coffee flavor with chocolate chunks.
This won’t be the last time you hear about these. Plus, unlike most yogurts on the market, these are aspartame and carrageenan free. A huge bonus for me.
2. Tis the season for all things Silk Soy Nog and So Delicious Coconut Nog
Now, these are not carrageenan free , however, they are way more nutritious and diet-friendly than their dairy counterparts. They are Vegan friendly and free of dairy, gluten and GMO’s. In moderation, a glass of soy nog or coconut milk nog satisfy my cravings for egg nog during the Holiday season. Both of these versions offer only 90 calories for 1/2 cup as compared to over 150 calories per 1/2 cup for the lowfat dairy brands.
3. Bragg Nutritional Yeast
I was introduced to this by my Mother but had forgotten about it until a friend asked me if I ever used it. I have had trouble finding this at my regular grocery store, but it is available at Whole Foods and health food stores. Basically, you just sprinkle 1 tablespoon onto anything you are eating and it adds a slightly cheesy flavor while giving you tons of Vitamin B. I am talking tons. All your major B-vitamins are covered here.
We often order takeout pizza without cheese and I don’t miss it when I sprinkle this on every slice. I add this to salads, eggs and veggies. Get it here – Braggs Nutritional Yeast
4. Benefit Cosmetics Benetint
Ok, it can’t be all about food, can it? I had received a sample of this from Sephora a few years back and have been a huge fan ever since. This rose-colored (and scented) sheer liquid can be blended into cheeks for a slight flush or onto lips for sheer tint that lasts for hours. I swear by this stuff. I grab a sample whenever I can and keep it in my handbag and my car.
There are other colors too including a peachy tint and my other favorite- Posietint which is a sheer poppy pink. The cost is $30 for a full size bottle (.5 oz) which has lasted me well over a year with almost daily use. You can find a smaller version usually near the grab bins at Sephora next to the checkout counters if you want to just try it before making the big leap. Or buy it here –Benetint Rose Lip and Cheek Tint
5. Avon MagiX Face Perfector SPF 20
Another product I swear by. I am prone to very oily skin (very oily)- especially living here in Central Florida. I never use foundation so this stuff is literally magic on my skin. It provides great coverage, a nice layer of SPF (so important here in the Sunshine State) and eliminates grease and oil from my face all day. Even in the high humid summer months. I don’t even carry around face powder when I wear this.
I have tried all the other brands of a similar product from Neutrogena to Origins to Smashbox and nothing compares to the cheaper (much cheaper) Avon brand. Nothing. If Avon ever stops making this I am in big BIG trouble. Bonus: Avon often runs specials like buy one get one or buy one get one at 50% off. Stock up. Or get it cheap from Amazon here- Avon MagiX Face Perfector
What would be on your Friday Favorites list?
So there you go, there ends my first Friday Favorites list. You’re welcome.
Chews to be happy and Chow!

Thanks so much for the shout out and for linking up this week! You are so sweet :)
I am obsessed with CHO bites and flip cups, especially in that key lime flavor. And those Nogs! YUM!
