The Holiday season is in full swing all around us which means red buckets and ringing bells at the grocery stores, company Holiday parties and endless Christmas movies on Hallmark and Lifetime TV! Here is my Friday favorites for December 6:
1. Christmas in Connecticut movie
I only discovered this movie a few months ago but it is now being shown on the Hallmark Movie Channel for the Holidays. Made in 1945, it is the story of a popular magazine chef/ food writer who is asked to host a dinner at her elegant farm. The problem is she can’t cook and doesn’t own the farm she writes about in her articles! Very funny. Get your copy here at Amazon- Christmas in Connecticut I love ordering movies from Amazon!!
2. Chocolate Oat Clusters
I am not a huge fan of chocolate (I know- I can hear you gasping) but this toasted granola cereal is just what I need to start my day when I am craving a little chocolate. These are cocoa krispies for grown ups!
3. Black Bean soup
It may still be 80 degrees here in Orlando, but it’s the time of year for soup! I love black bean soup and I recently discovered how wonderful black bean soup is with balsamic vinegar. I recently ordered a bowl at a restaurant where it was served with a bottle of balsamic vinegar. It was sooooo delicious!
My black bean soup has just been elevated to the next level of love.
4. Dipped apples
Apples are in season and what a better way to eat your apple a day than dipped in chocolate or caramel? The apple in the picture has sea salt on it which I didn’t particularly care for but I love good old fashioned caramel dipped apples!
5. Kale Salad
Ever since being talked into trying the Kale Salad at Houston’s I have become addicted to Kale salad. Kale is so versatile and can be mixed with about anything. I tried to recreate Houston’s Kale salad and it is one of my most popular posts so I know I am not alone in my love for kale. Here are a few shameless plugs for two of my most favorite Kale Salad recipes.
Houston’s Kale Salad with Peanut Vinaigrette
Kale and Brussel Sprouts Salad (with Gorgonzola)
Kale salad is probably my most favorite dish right now!
Thank to Heather for hosting the Friday Favorites link up!
So what are you liking this Friday? Do you have a great Kale Salad recipe you love?
