2/7 Friday Favorites- Key Lime Pie, the Beach and Halotherapy

Share the love :)

Sorry guys- I took the last couple of weeks off from Friday Favorites.  I guess just nothing was my favorite- ha!  Just kidding!  I have been quite busy with some new projects and got a little behind in the blogging world.  But no worries- I have accumulated quite a bunch of new Friday favorite things- lucky you!!

First up-

1. Key Lime Pie

Key Lime Pie in Cocoa Beach

I recently posted about visiting the Florida Key Lime Festival in Cocoa Beach and while the festival was a bit of a let down for us, we did walk away with some of the famous Florida pie.  We decided to head to the beach to enjoy our little slices of Heaven.  Maybe it was the sound of the waves crashing on the sandy beach, maybe it was the fresh salt air or maybe it was the beautiful 75° sunshine (sorry all you Northerners) but the pie was delicious!!  I am not much of a pie person, but this Key Lime was exceptional!!

2.  The sunrise over the beach

Daytona Beach sunrise

Speaking of the beach, Chad and I recently found ourselves in Daytona Beach for some work he was doing.  I just went along for the ride but we soon realized the work he was doing was going to take longer than expected so we decided to get a hotel room instead of driving back late at night.  We were able to get a great rate for a room right on the beach.  In the morning this is what I woke up to.  There is something so magical about being at the beach.  (Again- sorry all you Northerners!)

3.  Frozen Yogurt

Menchie's colorful

Growing up it was a special treat to take a trip to the local Baskin Robbins and try all the 31 flavors.  Pink bubblegum was my favorite.  Now, fast forward a few years, frozen yogurt is all the rage.  I love the places where you can fill up your own cup then add any number of toppings.  I like making mine as colorful as possible!!

4.  Fresh bread

Olde Hearth Bread Company East End Market

Ever since the East End Market has opened here in Orlando, we have taken the opportunity to visit a few times and go to the Olde Hearth Bread Company and pick up some of their freshly baked loaves of bread.  We love all the Vegan choices like the Black Olive and French baguettes.  We have had fun making meals based around our bread.  And the bread is fairly inexpensive- a big long Sourdough baguette will set you back only $2.

5.  Salt room Halotherapy

Lounge chair salt room

Have you tried Halotherapy yet?  Basically, you spend about an hour in a dimly lit room while salt air is pumped in through the vents.  While you will leave with a light layer of salt all over you and your clothes, I have found that I can breathe so much better and feel energized.  Many people are so relaxed during the treatment that they fall asleep, others like myself bring a book and spend the hour reading.  (And yes- my book was a little salty after.)  Well worth the time if you have any to spare.

Thank you again to Heather for hosting our linkup!

I hope everyone has a great weekend- what are your plans?  What are YOU loving this week?

I adore key lime pie and any sort of bubble gum ice cream was my favorite when I was a kid. I liked to tuck the gum pieces into the side of my cheek for when the ice cream was gone! Oh and I I've heard of the salt lamps before and have seen them here and there, but I didn't know there was such a thing as halotherapy. It sounds very soothing. I'm sure I would be one that would fall asleep. haha! Thanks for sharing!

I am really happy we have East End here now. I only wish there was a place to buy fresh fruits and veggies too in there- but otherwise it is like a mini Chelsea Market in there!

Very nice :-) The warm beach is great as I stare out on all our snow and ice.
