BurgerFi boosts to have “natural” angus burgers- no antibiotics, no hormones and vegetarian fed animals.  Soon, this burger joint will have about 26 locations in 9 states and I recently visited their Winter Park, Florida store.

It’s flashy, it’s packed with people….this is going to be good….or not…..

BurgerFiThe menu isn’t too extensive or confusing.  Basically- burgers, hot dogs and fries.  Anything from a build you own burger to a B.A.D. (Breakfast All Day) burger with a fried egg and maple-drizzled bacon.  There is a “secret” fries menu and a frozen custard selection.  Fairly unique in a mish mash of burger joints littering our great country.

Unfortunately, as soon as we stepped into the place I couldn’t wait to get out.  It was loud…really really loud.  And not crowded people talking laughing loud- I mean blasting music loud.  So loud I had to shout at Chad as we discussed our order.  So loud that I had to shout my order to the girl behind the counter.

BurgerFiI thought seriously about ordering the chicken apple dog (an apple stuffed chicken dog).  Instead, we both ordered the VegeFi burger– a quinoa veggie burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato and BurgerFi special sauce which was a mayo-based dressing.   The sides are all a la carte so we decided on the Cry and Fries– an order of onion rings and fries.

BurgerFiWe found a table outside on the patio to escape the loud music to wait for our food.  (Now I used to work at the Hard Rock Café where they are known for blaring loud music but the Hard Rock Café is like a library compared to BurgerFi.)

Anyway, our burgers were messy.  Really messy.  They are served in little pouches to catch all the drippings.  However, as messy as they were- THEY WERE DELICIOUS.  These burgers had TONS of flavor. And they were hearty unlike most veggie burgers. I loved the fact that it wasn’t a generic veggie patty that a majority of other places serve.  This was actually tasty- really tasty.  The fries were ordinary but the onion rings were enormous.  Too enormous.  All batter and no rings.

I would probably not return to BurgerFi when there are so many other places for a great burger.  The food could’ve blown me away and I would still not return to the rock concert loud venue of BurgerFi.  Plus, we asked for water and were given these tiny pexi glasses.  I had to refill my water at least three times during my meal so I never got to fully relax and sit down to enjoy my burger.  I felt like I was being punished for not drinking soda or sugary lemonade and tea.  How rude would it be if I walked in with my own bottle of water next time?  Oh, wait…there probably won’t be a next time.  Unless I run in and get the quinoa burger to go.  That could happen.  The burger was fantastic.  If they would just turn down the music and let us focus on what is good…..the food!

I also hate places where loud music is played where you have to yell to be heard and can’t hear the people you are with. I’ve been to too many functions like that and couldn’t wait to leave as much as I LOVE music.

Thank you for your honest opinion of my blog- however- I go to eat at a restaurant to not only enjoy the food but also to enjoy the company I am with and if I can’t hear the person sitting across from me then to me that is a problem-
I did like the food- I write about not only the food but also the atmosphere- and unfortunately I would rather go to a place that I can enjoy a meal and leave with my hearing still intact. Burger Fi had a great veggie burger and I would eat there again- but only for takeout.
So yes- I am allowed to like a place for the food but not like the environment.
Thank you again for the honest review you have expressed for my blog.

Stopped at BurgerFi this week near Chicago. Won’t be back. $25.00 for 2 burgers, 2 small drinks and we split the cry/fries. Oh, that special sauce is awful – unless you like Mayo/Ketchup/Pickle juice with some spicy pepper in it. Yes, the music was a bit loud, but not annoyingly loud. Burgers slightly salty. Not sure this place will be successful here.
