Mr. Beet and I found ourselves in Bradenton on a work assignment and we were hungry. It was lunchtime, and while there are plenty of food options in the area, we ventured a little east of downtown and found Central Cafe.
The first thing we ordered was the Fish Dip served with crudites and crackers. Colorful radish, cucumber, carrots and tomatoes alongside saltine crackers. The fish dip itself was a bit spicy, but not too overpowering.
For my main meal, I ordered the Californication sandwich with grilled rare ahi tuna, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, and soy sesame sauce. The sandwich also has bacon on it, but I asked for no bacon and it was still amazingly delicious. Served with crispy fries and a side of wasabi sauce, it was a perfect light but filling lunch.
Mr. Beet opted for the Ahi Tuna Tacos with fries. However, while this is normally served on the rare side, Mr. Beet likes his tuna cooked and it was delicious.
We liked the eclectic atmosphere, an industrial spot with exposed brick and cozy touches. Central Cafe is a great spot to grab a delicious quick lunch if your travels take you to Bradenton. 4 out of 5 sprouts.
