Hello! Welcome to What I Ate Wednesday. I took pictures of my food on the day I left for Ohio and more specifically- BloggyCon ‘15 at Cedar Point. I will tell you a little more about the conference later but for now- let’s just concentrate on the food, shall we?
The wake up alarm was early the day Chad and I left for Cleveland. Thankfully I had everything packed the night before so all I had to do was throw on some shoes and head to the airport. I managed to prepare some food the night before as well so it was a quick grab and go of a sliced tomato, avocado and a hard boiled egg.
By the time we arrived in Cleveland we were both hungry. Before we started the hour drive over to Cedar Point, we found a place called the Buckeye Beer Engine in the Lakewood neighborhood of Cleveland.
The online menu had a lot of great Vegetarian options including veggie burger sliders, potato pancakes and fried pickles.
The potato pancakes were served with homemade applesauce and I have to say that this was the best applesauce I have ever had. Who knew a little bar on the west side of Cleveland would make such delicious applesauce of all things?
Cleveland has a large Polish population which made the city known for its peirogies. I loved my potato and cheese peirogies here with the grilled onions and sour cream.
Once we arrived into Sandusky and checked into the hotel and the conference, it was time for a little dinner before hitting the rides and haunted houses in Cedar Point. We found a great little pizza spot outside of the main part of town called Chet and Matt’s. We loved the breaded cauliflower bites……
…and I couldn’t resist ordering a veggie pizza in the shape of a heart!
After a long day it was time to retire for the night but not before I ordered a decaf Caramel Pumpkin Frappuccino from the Starbucks in the hotel lobby. We enjoyed our Starbucks sitting outside in front of the firepit on the beach at Lake Erie. It was such a nice way to begin the fall season considering the fact that the weather is still quite warm back home in Orlando!
And that’s my day of eats traveling to Cleveland! Happy Wednesday and I look forward to reading all the blogging eats over at Peas and Crayons for the What I Ate Wednesday party!
