It’s Friday y’all! What are you guys up to today? I’m just hanging out at the house for the day, but tonight Chad and I are going to the new Dr. Phillips Center in downtown Orlando to see a ballet called Coppelia. Chad isn’t really a ballet type of guy but I talked him into it (and I begged and pleaded.) Saturday we are going to see a movie in the park- Monty Python and the Holy Grail presented by the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. Ha! Chad is certainly going to have a fun weekend- the ballet followed by Monty Python?
Anyway…on to Friday Favorites- Eels, Seahorses and Sprouts. I’m joining the party over at Life in Leggings. Party on, shall we?
We are just a few days from the official opening of the new I-Drive 360 facility on International Drive. The complex is anchored by the 400-ft Orlando Eye wheel, the new Madame Toussad’s wax museum and the brand new SEA Life Aquarium.
On Wednesday, if you watched the Today show, Nick Wallenda of the famous Wallenda stunt family walked the wheel. (that’s him with the microphone in the picture) He rode to the top of the wheel and walked on it, as it was turning, without a harness or a balancing pole. Then the opened the complex opened to the media. (The official opening of I-Drive 360 is actually Monday May 4th but I heard a little birdie say that everything is open now!)
I especially loved the SEA Life Aquarium– the sharks, the seahorses and the starfish.
At one point I was walking on water. Or through it, with sharks swimming over my head.
And the eels were scary.
A group of us also tried out one of the new restaurants at I-Drive 360– we went to Tin Roof Orlando.
I loved my veggie quesadilla….
.…but I was really smitten with my roasted Brussels sprouts.
I did not ride the wheel though many people did. I think I want to wait until Chad and I can ride it together. Unfortunately, he was not invited to the media event.
Last Saturday I filmed a commercial testimony for Orlando Foot and Ankle Clinic– the doctors group that did my recent foot surgery. It was fun getting my makeup done….
….and I had a lot to say on camera. I am looking forward to seeing the final video.
And after we hit up Smashburger for some veggie burgers and veggie frites.
We also celebrated Chad’s birthday this week so we pigged out on bundt cakes. Yes, bundt cakes. We have been visiting Nothing Bundt Cakes and picking up their mini bundtlet cakes. The cinnamon flavor was both of our favorite! I’m lucky I was able to snap this picture before it disappeared.
Lastly, I went and had a facial this week at a place called The Spa in College Park. My facial was fun but I really loved the collection of body butters and scrubs they were selling. I would like to have every one of these jars on my bathroom counter- please and thank you.
And that’s it from Beetsland! Thank you for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will see everyone on Monday for Meatless Monday– chow! And watch out for SHARKS!

Went today to aquarium - yes, everything is open to public. Aquarium was fabulous! My granddaughter was running from window to window yelling "look at this"! She said it was the best. I have a shop in Fredericksburg that sells those "whipped body scrubs" (I think that's what's in those jars) & I buy one that smells like frosting - smells good enough to eat ???? Can't wait to see the commercial. Let us know when it airs
