It’s time for Friday Favorites! This week I am highlighting some of my favorite memories of the 2015 Food and Wine Conference that was held right here in Orlando a few weeks ago. I love blogger conferences- so much great information on the latest trends in blogging- you know, all that classroom stuff. However, at a food blogging conference, there are also tons of parties, food and delicious treats. Here are some of my favorite memories in no particular order……
1. The venue.
Rosen Shingle Creek is one of the top destination resorts in Orlando and we got to spend the weekend here while at the conference. We immersed ourselves in luxury from the rooms to the golf to the spa. Does anybody else find they sleep better in a luxurious bed in a luxurious hotel? Just saying…..
Chad and I also took one night away from the festivities of the conference to enjoy a romantic meal at A Land Remembered – just one of the top notch restaurants at the resort. We loved the alligator butter….
…..and the asparagus with hollandaise went perfectly with our fish entrees.
2. The parties.
Bloggers know how to party. Especially at the Food and Wine Conference. Here is a picture of our opening reception where we experienced food from all the restaurants at the resort. We partied every night.
3. The shoe.
This chocolate shoe filled with macaroons was waiting for me in my hotel room after the opening reception.
4. The snacks.
Like these peach cobbler smoothies from The Georgia Peach Council.
Or these cupcakes from Gigi’s Cupcakes.
5. The meals.
Like our wine dinner on the second night of the conference sponsored by Certified Angus Beef and the Hess Wine Collection. While most attendees noshed on steaks, us non-meat eaters enjoyed roasted veggie puff pastries. So delish!
And lunch. A full poutine bar sponsored by Idaho Potatoes and Wisconsin Cheese. There were tons of poutine varieties from pulled pork to mushroom gravy to cinnamon apples. My favorite was the Idaho Potatoes topped with cinnamon apples and a poached egg.
Sunday morning we had a brunch sponsored by Duda Farm Fresh Foods. We were spoiled with lots of veggies and fruits like these citrus and strawberry fruit skewers….
…..and these grilled potato, radish and celery skewers. The grilled radishes were a huge hit. So many of us had never experienced grilled radishes before!
Duda Fresh Farms also provided us all with selfie sticks. Perfect for taking selfies and food pics. I was seriously too busy chowing to stop and take any selfies…sorry.
6. The crazy.
There was that time we all dressed up in silly hats and boas while posing in front of a car from our sponsors at Fields BMW.
Then there was that time when we did video karaoke at the booth sponsored by Idaho Potatoes. We were so high on sugar we got down and crazy! Enjoy.
I can’t wait to redeem myself at next years event.
