FLBlogCon 14- Friday Favorites

Share the love :)

Welcome to Friday.  This week was our first week back after a few weeks of travel- first to South Florida for a week, then we ventured up to Ohio for a conference, then Indiana to visit family.  We also took a day trip with Chad’s parents up to Michigan for the day- what a beautiful part of the country!  I saw two of the Great Lakes in less than a week.

We endured an EIGHT hour delay trying to fly out of the South Bend airport.  It took the airline eight hours to figure out we needed a rescue  plane and get one dispatched up to us from Florida.  We were scheduled to land at noon and we landed closer to 8:45pm.  Ugh.

I had just enough time to recollect and get ready for FLBlogCon– a big blogger conference here in Orlando.  My second blogger conference in a week.  This year I was SPEAKING……EEK!  I think it went well, I will recap that experience in a later post.  For now- here are my favorite things from the conference (there were a number of things I loved- I just had to dwindle them down to a few things for this post.)

My presentation went well

I was on a panel to discuss Haters and Trolls.  We had a nice turnout as well.   I was pretty sure I was going to pass out in the beginning but as the discussion went on I was feeling better about it.  I was overwhelmed when it was over and I had so many people on Twitter reaching out to me, thanking me and telling me how much they could relate to my experiences.

Onli Beverage Espresso Sparkling Water

Onli Espresso

This was perfect for the usual after lunch slump we all start to get.  Onli Beverages were served to us during lunch and I grabbed one of these Espresso Hazelnut flavors.  Though espresso flavored sparkling water may sound a little ….unusual…..I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was.

Pecha Kucha

Have you heard about this?  It’s a presentation with 20 slides set to a timer and no stop button.   The speaker has 20 seconds per slide before the next image is displayed.  Katy Windrick put together a slide show only bloggers could understand.  It was hilariously entertaining.  And so true.  We speak our own language as bloggers.  Besides Katy, there were so many great speakers and sessions.  I always take away so much at these conferences!

GiGi’s Cupcakes

Spiced Apple Cider cupcakes GiGi's FlBlogCon

Gigi’s Cupcakes provided us with after conference treats like these Spiced Apple Cider cupcakes.  This was a very popular display for bloggers.   And thanks to Tijuana Flats for providing us with lunch.

SNAP!  Studio Booth

Behind the scenes FLBlogCon

Kelly of SeaWorldMommy and I had a little fun in the SNAP! Studio Booth after the conference was over.  We look good in boas, no?

That conference looks like a great one! I'm sad I'm not in Orlando anymore to attend. Katy is great isn't she? So informative and an absolute blast. Love her! Also, I'm glad you got to see the Great Lakes! Have a great weekend! xo
