Hi. Hello. Greetings! Welcome to Friday and today’s Friday Favorites!!
I have been taking a much needed break from the blogging world. Just like any other job, sometimes you just need a break. I (well –we- meaning Mr. Beet and I) have been travelling non stop. It started with a two week trip I took to NYC with a quick jaunt to the Jersey shore, followed by a road trip to Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC. Then Mr. Beet and I spent this past weekend in Ocala, FL. Cannot wait to tell you about THAT trip. Look for some of that next week.
I have been happy to be home this week. However, this weekend I am heading back to NASA to join another NASA Social event. Anyone who has been following me on social media saw all of my posts from this past June where I had the opportunity to see the launch of the SpaceX CRS-11 Cargo Launch. During the two day event, we got an up close look at the SpaceX rocket on the Launch pad 39aVAB (the giant Vehicle Assembly building), and the LCC (Launch Control Center).
I am so honored and excited to have been selected again for the launch this coming Monday. It will be another 2-day event for myself and about 30 people that travel from all ends of the world to experience this event. Guys- if you have never been to a NASA Social, I highly recommend you apply. You do not have to have a blog to apply, but you do have to have a strong social media presence. I was only one of two bloggers at my last event. Participants ranged from a very famous You Tuber to a high school science teacher to a popular classical pianist. It is an experience unlike any other- imagine yourself witness a launch at the press site with journalists from around the world.
However, the NASA Social program is not limited to just Kennedy Space Center- these events take place at any of NASA’s 10 locations in the United States. Go here for more information –> NASA Social website.
OK, anyway, on to more of my Friday Favorites –>
1. The Billy Graham Library
Mr. Beet and I spent several days in Charlotte, NC (more info to come later on that) and one of the highlights while there was our visit to the Billy Graham Library. I will admit that I only went there because Mr. Beet really wanted to go, however, I ended up enjoying it immensely. It is seriously an amazing experience whether you are spiritual or not. I highly recommend heading here if you find yourself in the Charlotte area.
2. A Charleston sunset
We went to a baseball game while we were in Charleston, SC and the sunset over the stadium was amazing. In this picture above, the two shots were taken minutes apart – 5 minutes apart to be specific. Tell me this isn’t a spectacular sunset!
3. My favorite pizza
My favorite pizza is the Grama Pie from Say Cheese in Bunnell, FL, just outside of Daytona Beach. I think they put crack in their pizza because I just can’t get enough of this stuff. I kid. I kid. Mr. Beet and I stop almost every time we are heading up I-95 to Savannah, Charleston, or wherever. Love this pie.
4. The Horchata Frappuccino
Have you tried this? OMG, it is amazing. Made with almond milk, it is a cinnamon-y delight!!
And look at these adorable cake pops I saw in the treats case.
5. My favorite quote
I leave you with my most favorite quote in the entire world –
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to catch the other Friday Favorites with Andrea, Katie and April.
So leave me a comment – What is your favorite quote?

We love visiting the Billy Graham Library. Especially at Christmas time when they have the live animals roaming around. Welcome to Charlotte!
