Friday Favorites Beauty and the Beets 5-13

Happy Friday!! I am so excited- today starts one of my most favorite blogging conferences of the year- the Food Wine Conference, #FWCon. I am spending the weekend at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando eating and learning.

Oh and I am also team captain of a cooking competition during the conference. All I know is we are making something with blueberries and some other secret ingredients that will be unveiled the day of. I think I have recruited a bunch of really good members for my team – eeeek!!

I am equally excited as my sponsor for the conference is the Fields Auto Group, a company of luxury car dealerships located across the United States. They will be providing transportation for conference attendees from our hotel to the Rosen College of Hospitality Management for Sunday’s sessions and classes.  (Though you can’t see it, there is a fancy car behind all those crazy people in this picture: )

So this past weekend I was in Indianapolis, where Mr. Beet and I ran the #IndyMini, a half marathon that kicks off the Indy 500 Festival. The course is really fun with three miles spent running around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In just a few weeks over Memorial Day Weekend, the Speedway will be the site of the 100th running of the Indy 500.

I enjoyed the half marathon, not only was the course great, Mr. Beet also spent his run with me. So it was fun too.

After the race I indulged in a chocolate beet cupcake from Georgetown Market, just north of the city.

And while in Indiana, we had the best breadsticks and pizza from a place called Pizza Junkiez in Kokomo, about an hour north of Indianapolis. I just love the pizza in Indiana.

I also tried the Caramel Waffle Cone Frappuccino from Starbucks. Super delicious – wish I had one right now!!

I've wondered about the Caramel Waffle Cone Frapp. It sounds amazing but I hadn't heard any feedback. Guess what I'll be getting the next Starbucks run? Have fun at your conference! And thanks for linking up to High 5 Friday!
