Jazzy’s Mainely Lobster sits one block from the beach in Cocoa Beach, FL. There is a restaurant as well as a fresh seafood market. The dining room is small but it is worth the visit to enjoy some fresh seafood at the beach.
The owner is obviously from the New England area- hence the “GO PATS” on the sign and all the Pats décor on the inside.
I had only one thing on my mind- the lobster roll. Served on a buttery New England-style (split top) roll, the lobster roll is clearly one of their specialties. My roll was over stuffed with big pieces of juicy lobster lightly tossed in a mayo-based dressing.
I ordered the sweet potato fries as my side and they too were delicious.
Chad decided on the blackened Mahi Mahi platter. The one thing that confused us was the $12.99 price- a piece of Mahi without the bread, while the blackened Mahi sandwich was only $9.99, a piece of Mahi with the bread. His fish wasn’t that big so we aren’t sure it was worth the higher price but nonetheless it was quite tasty and perfectly blackened.
He substituted the fried green tomatoes instead of the fries and they were also delicious.
And just an FYI- as with any respectable decent seafood joint, all platters are served with coleslaw. Jazzy’s slaw was very good- probably vinegar based as opposed to the usual heavy mayo variety. I could have eaten a platter of that all by itself.
The dining room is very small, only 5 tables total and the décor is very dated. They did recently “remodel” but that only entailed moving the counter a little further back into the market area. The décor itself was the same as it was when we visited a few years ago.
However small the dining room is (and there is an outside area with a few more tables), the place is quite popular. We saw many customers come in and order food and fresh fish to go.
The menu is perfect for anyone craving seafood. Many types of fish sandwiches, po’ boys and fried seafood baskets. And of course, burgers are on the menu for anyone who doesn’t do the seafood thing.
And on a previous visit we tried the clam chowder which was outstanding.
We love this place. (They even sell my most favorite but most unhealthy beverage in the whole world- Mexican Coke!!) We love it so much it will definitely be our new go to seafood spot when we are in Cocoa Beach. A very solid 4 1/2 sprouts.
