A diner is not the normal place I would sit and write a review about, but this place is an institution. The Rodeo Diner has been around forever and is the most popular place in the St. Cloud/Kissimmee area for good old fashioned comfort food.
We didn’t order anything extraordinary, but the food is cheap, the restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is pure southern hospitality. Everyone should have a go-to place where they feel welcome and can count on a good meal all the time. While we don’t live near the Rodeo Diner to make it our go-to spot, I can see why the locals in St. Cloud have made this their place.
The French toast is thick and golden brown, not too big, not too small. Just enough for your average appetite.
If you order the eggs over medium, they are served over-medium. A sign of a competent cook who can fix eggs just how you like them.
Crispy hashbrowns, just like a great diner should make hashbrowns.
And ordering sliced tomatoes cancels out all that greasy diner food, right?
Another good sign of a decent meal is an empty plate. We left the Rodeo Diner with full bellies, money still in our pockets and happiness in our hearts. Yay for the institution of the greasy spoon.
