Say whaaaat? It’s Wednesday? OK- here we go- another party for What I Ate Wednesday – so let’s not waste any time. This is my What I Ate Wednesday but on Sunday. (Does that even make sense?)
The day began with Chad and I waking up in Savannah. We were there for a familiarization trip with the Savannah Sports Council. Our hotel was right on Bay Street so it only seemed logical that we head over to the Riverfront to grab brunch. We ate at Huey’s On The River – one of my favorite places in Historic Savannah.
While Chad enjoyed Pain Perdue…..
I had Eggs Sardou, a twist on the traditional Eggs Benedict with creamed spinach and artichokes instead of Canadian Bacon. I cannot wait to make this at home.
However, the highlight of our meal was Huey’s Beignets.
But the beignets are never complete without a drizzle of warm praline sauce.
After brunch, we headed back to our hotel, packed up and made the 4-hour trip back to Orlando. We just wanted to make sure we were home in time to watch the Super Bowl.
While I didn’t go all out by whipping up a Big Game feast, I did make some guacamole and pear-blue cheese crostinis w/honey.
And that is what we will call dinner. And I made so much guacamole it took us three days to eat it all. I think we are a little guac’ed out for now!
So that’s it- thank you for stopping by. Time for me to make the rounds on this Wednesday and see what everyone else has been eating!
