Shopping & Minarets- Friday Favorites

Share the love :)

Happy Friday everyone!!  This has been another good week for Chad and me- we had some great food, saw some amazing views and did some shopping at IKEA. This is my shopping and minarets Friday Favorites edition.

IKEA Orlando, Florida

IKEA!!  I cannot be left alone at that place.  I walk in with a list and walk out with an even bigger one.

IKEA Orlando

One of the cool things at IKEA is the Family Card- not only do you get some amazing discounts on the merchandise, you also get some great benefits at the restaurant.  Free coffee and hot tea with every visit.  After we spent a few hours walking around the store it was Heavenly to sit and enjoy a nice cup of tea- on the house!  Signing up for the family card is completely free as well so there is nothing to lose.

Before our big epic trip to IKEA, Chad and I stopped for a bite at Fogo De Chao on International Drive.  It’s a steakhouse, normally a place that we wouldn’t visit, but I had received a couple of gift cards so we sat at the bar and had a few appetizers for lunch.

Spinach and Hearts of Palm Fogo De Chao

First of all, the spinach and hearts of palm dip is one of the best appetizers I have had in a long time.  I am sure there was nothing healthy or “skinny” about it however- but it was mighty delicious.

Polenta fries Fogo De Chao

We also snacked on polenta fries.  I’ve been toying with the idea of making polenta at the house so having these fries has kind of kick-started my brain into thinking up a recipe to make.

University of Tampa Minarets

Last on my list of Friday Favorites is this view of the minarets at The University of Tampa.  I attended an event this past week at the Tampa Museum of Art and this is what the museum overlooks.  I’ve seen the silver domes before driving through Tampa but never up close like this and now I know exactly what those onion-shaped spires belong to.  One of the academic buildings at the college.

That’s all I’ve got this week.  I have a 5K on Saturday and then we are having a quiet weekend- our first weekend at home in many weeks.  We will probably just work on a few house projects- maybe watch a movie or two.  What are you up to this weekend?

Thanks to Heather at Housewife Glamour for hosting the Friday Favorites link up!
