We found this gem in Ocoee and had to go two days in a row just to make sure this wasn’t a fluke. We love places that offer us veggie heads something other than a frozen veggie patty. That One Spot Eatery offers a spinach patty, a black bean patty and a salmon patty- all homemade on the premises. This quaint little eatery just opened this past December and from what I can tell, they already have a very loyal following.
Day One: We ordered the Greek Veggie burger– spinach patties, herbed Greek yogurt, Feta cheese, red peppers, sprouts and red onions. This burger was so flavorful my mouth was dancing a happy dance.
We also ordered the Bayou Black Bean burger. The Bayou burger is normally served with a beef patty but we substituted the black bean burger instead. This burger came with jalapeno jack cheese, Cajun sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and red onions. This combination of flavors were just born to be with the black bean burger. Another huge hit.
We rounded off our meals with an order of hand cut fries and a wedge salad. The fries were crisp and seasoned well while the salad was a good sized portion and came with a tangy herb vinaigrette that was delicious.
Day Two: We just had to go again the next day- this place was just too good to be true, right? The burgers on Day Two were even better.
First up the Salmon Burger. This was more of a salmon fillet than a burger patty but it was seasoned so well it just melted in my mouth. The sandwich was accompanied with sprouts, tomatoes, red onions and garlic aioli. On the menu it is also served with goat cheese however we substituted feta cheese instead. Did I mention that this burger melted in my mouth?
However, my favorite of all the burgers we tried was the Crunch Burger. We changed out the regular beef patty for the spinach patties. This burger has solidified That One Spot as my favorite burger joint in all of Orlando. Horseradish sauce, lettuce, tomato, fried onions, blue cheese crumbles and potato chips. That’s right. Fried onions and potato chips.
Again we ordered the wedge salad and this time we got a side of sweet potato fries. Our only complaint is the lack of any kind of seasoning on them. Other than that, we were thrilled that they were so willing to make substitutions for us veggie heads so we could try different toppings. And actually, just one more complaint. The burgers are messy. Very messy. I guess that isn’t really a complaint- just an observation. I will take messy and delicious any day over cardboard and neat.
Five out of five sprouts. ‘Nuff said.
