Welcome to What I Ate Wednesday! This week I am recapping what I ate a few days ago at the St. Augustine Half Marathon Weekend, before and after I ran the race. See my race recap here.
St. Augustine is less than a two hour drive from our house in Orlando and our favorite pizza spot is on the way. We left the day before the race, so Chad and I stopped in for some Gramma pie and fries at Say Cheese Pizza and Wings in Bunnell, FL.
The Gramma pie is our favorite pizza and we always make a stop here every time we are on our way to Jacksonville or St. Augustine. This was my pre-race-night-before fuel.
Sunday morning early was my half-marathon. After the grueling 13.1 mile race, we immediately hit up a coffee spot for some bagels and pastries.
And I may have dug into a bag of Tastycake Mini Chocolate Doughnuts we had in the hotel room.
Later that night we drove to St. Augustine Beach to try out a restaurant that has been on my wishlist for a while called Mango Mangoes Caribbean Grill. We feasted post race on corncakes, clam and shrimp chowder, grilled mahi mahi and steamed vegetables.
And a trip to St. Augustine is never complete without a trip to Whetstones Chocolate Factory for frozen hot chocolate!
St. Augustine is an amazing foodie town- a great place for a weekend getaway!
