Welcome to another edition of Friday Favorites. I wish I could say I’ve gone all patriotic and have July 4th edition of Friday Favorites today, but alas, I didn’t. We plan on keeping the weekend very low-key. We may or may not fight the crowds and venture into downtown Orlando for the fireworks over Lake Eola but we haven’t decided yet. Happy 4th!
It’s been another long week for both Chad and I- especially him. He’s been working late and I have been on my own with meals. I didn’t cook anything special other than throwing some roasted tomatoes and asparagus over some fresh black pepper pasta one night. Probably one of my most favorite pasta toppings – Roasted Tomato Linguine. That counts as a Friday Favorite, right? Well, let’s get right to it.
1. Roasted Garlic
I did try my hand at roasting garlic this week. Chad and I were getting salads from Whole Foods a while back and on the salad bar they had roasted garlic cloves. I’ve been trying to master them at home because they are just so darn healthy and tasty but mine always turn to mush. If anyone knows the secret to roasting garlic and keeping the cloves whole please do share. Argh.
2. Caramel Apple Pancakes
Look at these hotcakes. These are patriotic right? It’s like apple pie rolled into a pancake. We had these at a diner in Indiana and I’ve been thinking about making them at home ever since. Maybe this holiday weekend would be the perfect time to recreate this one morning.
3. Luke Bryan “Play It Again”
I love country music and this song has me singing in my car every time it comes on. It reminds me of my high school days when my life revolved around music and every song on the radio was my favorite! It doesn’t hurt that Luke Bryan is easy on the eyes. Do you see that killer watt smile?
4. This.
I first saw some of these pictures on Pinterest. This puppy is sooo adorable. How did they get this Coonhound to pose in some of these pictures? Scroll through the gallery of Maddie the Coonhound and I promise you, it will bring a big smile to your face.
I have seriously spent hours going though all these pictures. This is one special little girl. I wonder if I could get one of my furry children to sit in a trunk full of catnip?
5. Brady Bands
One thing we are doing this morning is running in the Watermelon 5k race up in Winter Park, FL and thanks to Heather over at Housewife Glamour, I will be rocking the sparkles at the race. I won a giveaway on Heather’s blog and got to pick two of my favorites from the Brady Bands collection. I will be rocking the sparkles at the race. I like the wide selection they offer and they are very reasonably priced unlike some of the other bands we see at the race expos.
Thanks again to Heather for hosting the Friday Favorites link up. It’s my favorite time of the week when I get to read what everyone else is crushing on for the week.
Have you entered the Taste Of Nature giveaway today?
