In a town full of tacky tourist buffet restaurants, Billy Gail’s Cafe is a breath of fresh air. Located just a few miles off the main strip, Billy Gail’s is found in a small log cabin, typical of the Ozarks region.
Billy Gail’s Cafe is a very popular spot for the locals. I think we, as tourists, were out numbered as the servers seemed to know everyone that walked through the door. The coffee was flowing and the food was pretty good.
I ordered a hashed egg dish, with the hash browns, scrambled eggs and cheese all served together on the plate. It was hot and tasty.
Mr. Beet had his typical French Toast breakfast. The bread was super thick and only a few pieces were needed to fill him up.
I think what we loved the most about Billy Gail’s Cafe was the eclectic atmosphere. The restaurant is also an antique shop with plenty of knick knacks to gaze over as you wait for a table. Billy Gail’s Cafe is certainly worth the visit when you get to Branson. 4 out of 5 sprouts.
