So, here’s the thing. I do not normally write about chain restaurants, however, when I visited The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Company while in Atlanta, I thought this was a spot unique to the area. Turns out, there is a Brooklyn Water Bagel Company outlet around my town of Orlando (three of them to be exact) and there are also locations near Boston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and in North Carolina, North and South Florida.
What makes me love this place is their iced coffee cubes. Why don’t other places do this? Have you ever ordered an iced coffee and then it ends up completely watered down after 15 minutes? Well why don’t places use coffee ice cubes? I ordered an iced coffee and got their Cubsta– and it really makes a difference. I didn’t feel the pressure of having to suck down my coffee.
I also tried the Flatbush Freeze, a frozen concoction with coffee, caramel and iced coffee cubes.
For breakfast I ordered the Manhattan – a bagel smeared with cream cheese and topped with smoked salmon, tomato and red onion. Very good, but the bagels to me are the same as anywhere else you can get a bagel.
However, apparently, they create water just like that in Manhattan to make the bagels.
What really sells the place are those coffee cubes. Bingo. 4 out of 5 sprouts.
