Branson is a town full of mom and pop hotels, shops, and restaurants. Restaurants like Florentina’s Ristorante Italiano. I visited with a group so I did not get to try any entrees off their regular menu, but we did have the opportunity to taste their specialty- the Italian Nachos.
The Italian Nachos is a plate full of housemade pasta chips topped with alfredo sauce, diced grilled chicken, kalmata olives, fresh tomatoes, pepperoncini, red onions, and mixed cheese. We could have ordered one for each of us and everyone would have been happy.
Our choices for entrees included Chicken Caeser Salad, Fettuccini Alfredo, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Baked Rigatoni. I went with the Baked Rigatoni. It was not very good, definitely was made in advanced as it was quite dried out. The sauce was scarce and the noodles were rubbery. The sauce had very little taste, it tasted no different than what you might find on a buffet line at a family restaurant.
For dessert we were served a black and white cake which was just OK, again, not very fresh. I would have loved a great Tira Mi Su or a Cannoli.
I really wanted to give Florentina’s Ristorante Italiano another chance as there are some items on the menu that sounded tasty like Seafood Ravioli and Lemon Chicken Pasta. They also have brick oven pizzas and steak specialties.
I get that a group of 30 is a lot of people to have to cook for all at once, but for me its no excuse for bland food. I am someone who never salts their food or uses salt in my cooking so I feel I know bland better than most. I am skipping my usual sprout ratings since I was not able to try the regular menu and I won’t rate a restaurant based on a limited group menu.
