Friday Favorites #77

Friday Favorites Beauty and the Beets 7-8

Is anybody else as happy about today being Friday as I am? For no particular reason it just seems like this week has been really long. Does anyone else feel that way? I am so happy it is Friday that I am just going to jump right into my Friday Favorites #77

Last weekend started out with a date night for Mr. Beet and I. We went to the Mama’s Comedy Show, a hilarious rated R comedic improvisational show at Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Theatre here in Orlando. We drank Fruit Loop juice, ate cheesesticks and laughed the evening away. Highly recommended if you venture down this way to Orlando.

The next evening we were invited to try some of the new items on the menu at Bonefish Grill, one of our favorite restaurants. I love that they change the menu seasonally and I completely fell in love with the Sea Scallops and Corn Risotto.

And the Lobster Stuffed Shrimp.

And the gluten-free Macadamia Nut Brownie.

And the donuts. Have you had the donuts here? #thisiswhyIrun

No worries, I didn’t eat like that all week. I ate a bunch of grapefruit with mint and honey for breakfast a couple times.

Oh ya…and I had this breakfast sandwich I made with cream cheese, apricot preserves and honey. Maybe not the healthiest way to start the day but again….#thisiswhyIrun

And speaking of why I run, we have scored an incredible deal with our health insurance. We pay a set fee and are granted membership to most all of the gyms in the area, and not just in Orlando, just about anywhere in the country. So Mr. Beet and I have a membership to our local LA Fitness, Anytime Fitness and the National Training Center in Clermont, just north of Orlando. The National Training Center has been the training facility to many Olympic Athletes including Justin Gatlin and Tyson Gay. I am going to have to step up my fitness game. We love the Olympic sized outdoor pool at the NTC, a place you may be finding us frequent quite a bit this summer.

And all that exercise has made me hungry again, for Brusters Ice Cream, very close to the NTC. Specifically I am loving the Chocolate Peanut Butter with Buckeyes flavor. I had never heard of buckeyes before until just a few months ago when Sharon,my Step-Mom, invited me over to her house to make a batch. Ya, they are pretty delicious. And….#thisiswhyIrun

And last night I once again had a cooking demonstration at the Orange County Public Library in downtown Orlando. I prepared several dishes with food that boosts your brain power and I think everyone had a good time. I am looking forward to doing it again- it’s a great program the library sponsors called Cuisine Corner.

And now I have only one goal this weekend – The Secret Life of Pets. Anyone else excited to see this movie??

Well thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to join the party with Heather from Life in Leggings, Andrea from Momfessionals and Angela from Happy Fit Mama for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Now I think I have to stop at Bonefish this week. Scallops /risotto sound wonderful & brownies too of course. I have cream cheese & jam on toast often - love it! Of course to make it "healthy" I sprinkle chia seeds on it ?. Great deal w/health clubs!! & congrats on continuing cooking demos - that's great! Planning trip to Brusters next time we're in town - Hope you can join us.

I have so many #thisiswhyirun moments too, lol. I have always wanted to be a part of a cooking demo, I just need to find somewhere that does them in my area. Have a great weekend!

Check with your local library- our Orlando Public Library hosts 3-4 bloggers a month. I woud think a local library would love the publicity!!

That's so neat that you did a cooking demonstration. Doing what you love and what you're gifted in is always amazing!

And ... that breakfast sandwich sounds pretty amazing to me. Now cream cheese sounds really good.

I would love to go to a mystery dinner theater some time. And let us know your thoughts on the Secret Life of Pets. I've been anticipating it too!
