Happy Friday!!
I joined Chad this past week as he had to work in Ft. Myers- about three hours south of Orlando. As he spent the days working, I got to leisurely enjoy the hotel. I actually spent the time catching up on emails and getting some writing done. We’ve had no time for sight seeing. So my Friday Favorites- Ft Myers Edition for this week!.
1. The sunrise
Our hotel overlooks the water and the view is stunning., especially in the morning as the sunrises.
The West Coast of Florida is better known for the spectacular sunsets but it was sure beautiful in the early morning as well.
2. Chickpea Curry
One of my most favorite things about travelling is finding new restaurants. We found this place called the Happiness Healthy Café. It looked like quite a dive on the outside but inside they were serving up some pretty tasty Vegetarian Indian food. I loved my chickpea curry.
3. Naan and Raita
Then there is perhaps one of my most favorite foods of all time. I would file this just under my love for broccoli and brussel sprouts. Naan and Raita. Raita is a yogurt sauce or a dip seasoned with cucumbers, cumin and mint among other spices. Similar to Tzatziki, only thinner. I could put the stuff on anything and I would love it. Probably even chocolate.
4. Publix Sushi
A friend of mine up north couldn’t believe that I would eat sushi from a grocery store. Here in Florida Publix has some of the best sushi around. Most of the Publix stores have a full time Sushi Chef who will make you a roll fresh, right in front of you. It makes it so easy just to grab and go. Publix has always been a lifesaver when we travel.
5. The Rainbows
Not a day passed in Ft. Myers without me witnessing a rainbow across the water. I have never seen so many rainbows in such a short amount of time. Simply beautiful.
That’s it for me. Thank you to Heather from Housewife Glamour for hosting Friday Favorites yet again.
What are your favorite things this Friday?
