Beauty and the Beets Holiday Gift Guide 2020

Share the love :)

Happy Holidays! Here’s the 2020 Beauty and the Beets Holiday Gift Guide – Quarantine edition. I’ve included local merchants in Orlando as well as nationwide vendors, but everything can be ordered online and mailed to an address of your choice. (Prices listed were up to date as of publishing)

Whoa, what a year it has been. We’ve all become reacquainted with the four walls of our  own homes, we’ve probably discovered new things about our spouse/roommate/children (notice I didn’t say good things). It’s been a whack-a-doodle year and there isn’t much evidence things are going to change anytime before the spring. We are still going to be on semi-quarantine with restaurants, shops, and gyms closed or limiting their services.  Office spaces and movie theatres may soon be a thing of the past. We are becoming accustomed to working from home and streaming movies from Netflix and HBO Max.

Even our Holiday wish lists are different this year than years of the past. We want things that will make our home lives a little more comfortable and manageable. I’ve got you covered. Here is the Beauty and the Beets Holiday Gift Guide 2020 – Quarantine Edition:

1. For the home cook: The Honey Bear Trio from A Spoonful of Hope ($10)

Honey for Good Second Harvest Food Bank Beauty and the Beets

Santa’s White Christmas Coffee has been a cult favorite from Barnie’s Coffee and Tea Company. The flavor is offered in bags or single serve cups, and if you live near a Publix you’ll find a Santa’s White Christmas ice cream flavor! Those local to the Orlando area will also find a Santa’s White Christmas Stout at Ten10 Brewing Company, Santa’s White Christmas Brownies from Se7en Bites Bakery, and a Santa’s White Christmas Cookie from Gideon’s Bakehouse. This flavor sells out quickly everywhere so place your order fast!

3. For the Fashionista: Masks from Etsy ($5-$13)

Masks from Etsy Beauty and the Beets

I started collecting masks in mid March at the start of this pandemic. The fashion collector that I am, I figured I was going to need a mask in every color to match all my outfits when the day came we would be allowed into the world again. I like to think these masks are like lipstick, each one conveys a mood or a feeling. A way to show my off my sparkling and charming personality. My Disney masks are my favorites as is my gingerbread man and camping masks. Check out these favorite ETSY stores  to see their latest designs:

4. For ZOOM calls – you will get the perfect lighting with this desktop selfie ring light ($24)

10inch selfie ring light Beauty and the Beets

Most of us have spent time on ZOOM whether on a conference call at work or trying to stay connected with friends and family. Why can’t we all look like we stepped into a movie set with proper lighting? I have two of these 10” selfie ring lights and I love how good it lights me up during ZOOM calls. I haven’t had anyone tell me I look like something the cat has dragged in so they must be working!

5. For the person who can’t put their phone down: The Digital Detox Kit from Pinch Provisions ($25)

Pinch Provisions Digital Detox Kit Beauty and the Beets

Have you noticed yourself spending more time on your phone scrolling endlessly and mindlessly through Facebook? I recently implemented a digital time-out in my life by declaring a digital detox once a week. For this reason, I recently got this Digital Detox kit from Pinch Provisions. I have a pouch for my phone to take a rest, a sleeping mask and ear plugs for me, a tech timer, a mini alarm clock, an infinity fidget cube, and a die you can roll to give yourself ideas of what to do with your new free time.

6. For the reader: books (prices vary)

And now that we are all digital detoxing, we need something to occupy our time, right? I’ve read a lot of books during quarantine- here are three of my favorite:

  • For the intellect: A Promised Land by Barack Obama ($24)
Obama A Promised Land Beauty and the Beets

President Obama opens up about his time in office. It’s riveting and hilarious – he certainly has a great sense of humor and a very positive outlook on just about everything. Very inspirational.

Order A Promised Land
  • For the 90’s teen: Open Book by Jessica Simpson ($16)
Jessica Simpson Open Book Beauty and the Beets

I couldn’t put this down. Jessica is so open and honest about growing up in the spotlight, her addiction to alcohol, and she spills the tea on all the romances. Did I tell you I couldn’t put this down? This should go on your own personal holiday gift guide wish list.

Order Open Book
  • For the college grad/young professional: The Standout Experience by John Walsh ($16)

You don’t have to be a young professional or recent college grad to use the advice in this book. This book will inspire you to rise and shine no matter what your age.

Order The Standout Experience
  • For the kids and the kid at heart: Zoey’s Adventures To The Ice Cream Shop by Ilene Lieber
Zoey's Adventures to the Ice Cream Shop

This is the first book in a series of Zoey’s adventures. Zoey is a lovable Golden Retriever rescue pup (follow her on Instagram here). And what dog doesn’t like ice cream? Portions of sales go to various animal charities so it’s another gift that gives back!

7. For the homebody: The slippers Oprah made famous ($23-$45)

Aroma Animal Slippers Beauty and the Beets

What’s a holiday gift guide without cozy animal slippers to keep your feet warm and cute? Oprah made these animal slippers famous in 2012 when she wore the frog version on the Today show. I love my frog and ladybug slippers still to this day and they have held up very well. Aroma Home is still making these animal cuties. I haven’t been able to track down the frogs or the ladybugs, but there are new styles including cats, pigs, porcupines, and adorable yellow ducks. I am about to own an entire zoo for my feet.

Order Aroma Animal Slippers

8. For history buffs: 23 and Me DNA kit ($79-$129 until 12/26)

Welcome to You 23 and Me

I actually did this about a year ago and was surprised at my results. I had always thought I was half Irish and half Czech, but actually, I am mostly Czech, British, and French with a small amount of Italian, German, and Irish mixed in. And I learned I am related to King Richard III, King of England, on my Mother’s side. It’s been so interesting tracing my family history. Right now, DNA kits are 35% off.

Order a 23 and Me DNA kit

And that’s all I got for the 2020 Beauty and the Beets Holiday Gift Guide! I hope you have found something on your quarantine gift list and here’s to hoping next year’s list will include more travel items as we hopefully can return to normal!

This is really a great list. Definitely something for everybody and it should help people who still don’t know what to buy everyone for Christmas. I have certainly picked out a thing or two for me and other people. This is as good as Oprah’s list she puts out every year :-) Thank you - great job!!!!!!
