Mile One: From Surgery To Running

Mile One: From Surgery to Running.

Today marks exactly three months since I walked into the Orlando Foot and Ankle Clinic and had my bunionectomy. It’s been three months of walking casts, soft casts, laying on the couch with my foot propped up and enduring Chad’s cooking. (Cereal for dinner anyone?)

Day of Surgery

Today marks Mile One. I am going to slip on my running shoes for the first time in three months and take my first mile. Those poor shoes have been patiently sitting in the corner longing for some attention. One mile on the treadmill WALKING. Then one day of rest just to see if my foot swells up. If everything goes well, today will be my first mile towards completing my three half marathons this year as a Rock and Roll Marathon #RocknBlog Team Member. I’ve got seven months before my first race in St. Louis- who’s with me?
