I have so many favorite things to share I am just going to jump right into Friday Favorites! If you have been following me on Instagram or Facebook you’ve seen a few of these pictures already so I apologize for the duplicates. Chad and I have been up in North Atlanta for work so I’ve been scoping out some of the best meals the north ‘burbs has to offer. We’re doing road tripping eats!
So far we have been beyond pleased with all of our restaurant choices.
First there was the blueberry pancakes we had for breakfast at Gabriel’s at The Old Mill in a small town called Acworth……
Part of the fun of looking for restaurants in small towns is finding neat little areas to explore.
Back in our neck of the woods we found this awesome running and biking trail right near our hotel.
Then there was the amazing lunch we had the next day at a place called Bone Garden Cantina. This tiny restaurant is hidden in an industrial loft office park- if you are not from here you would never stumble upon this little gem. We loved the hibiscus flower and cactus tacos…..
…..the hibiscus flower aqua fresco…….
….and my favorite- the cebollitas– pan fried spring onion bulbs. We spritzed the onions with fresh limes and scarfed them down….
…but Chad was nice enough to save me the last one.
And we both got a big kick with the décor here- I need to know where I can get one of these Coffin-shaped Operation games.
While in that industrial park area in West Midtown Atlanta we also stumbled onto this Topgolf driving range under construction. This facility is enormous!
Then there was the tapas restaurant we found a few miles from our hotel called Five40 Kitchen and Social House. Oh my….wow….apples and Brussels sprouts, fish tacos, cream of asparagus soup and pimento cheese crostinis. Missing from this picture are the fried green tomatoes.
I loved the brussels sprouts (no surprise there) and the pimento cheese crostinis with tomato jam.
We also stumbled upon a place called Tom and Chee– just so happens there is one opening in Orlando in just a few weeks. The basis of the menu is tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. There is a huge variety of ingredients to mix and match. I loved my Swiss+Chee – mushrooms, onions and swiss cheese on rye bread- grilled up hot and gooey.
Who else loves potato chips in their grilled cheese sandwiches? They actually offer potato chips as a filling here!
And perhaps they are most known for their famous grilled cheese donuts. Chad and I each ordered our own. While he got a chocolate mint version, I loved my strawberry lemonade grilled cheese glazed donut.
I adore Atlanta. I spent a lot of time here in my Delta Flight Attendant days. I could live here and we just might someday soon.
So Happy Friday and I will see you guys in Ft. Myers, FL for FloridaSunCon! Who else will be there?

Those blueberry pancakes look divine! What a fun trip you have been on, and I hope when you go back home you will get to relax. I LOVE onions, and I had never heard of pan fried spring onion bulbs… I need to find that around me!

Yes, the blueberry pancakes were delicious - and the place was cheap too! (A fantastic combination....)
