Seasons 52 Unveils New Dessert Menu

Seasons 52 desserts

Seasons 52 is always evolving. The menu is changed with every season and new items are added weekly, sometimes daily. Nothing on the menu is over 475 calories and the portions aren’t gut busting. Everything is fresh and local ingredients are used whenever possible. With that being said, we at The Hungry Sprout are huge fans.  Seasons 52 is our go to place with out of town guests and special occasions. We just had a wonderful lunch there a few weeks ago.

My most recent visit was to their flagship restaurant in Orlando, FL and my sole purpose was to sample the new dessert menu.  And sampling is about all I could do.  An entire dessert tray was placed in front of me and I proceeded to taste every little shot glass of sweet confection from Carrot Cake to Mocha Macchiato to Butterscotch Budino.  The new dessert menu rolls out across the country starting today- (April 29, 2014)

Seasons 52 doesn’t serve desserts on fancy plates with big pieces of cake and fancy garnishes.  Instead, each dessert is individually hand crafted into a shot glass.  Here is what the new dessert menu offers:

Blueberries With Lemon Curd

Blueberries with Lemon Curd Seasons 52 Beauty and the Beets

Probably my most favorite.  Fresh plump blueberries mixed into a light lemon curd.  First of all, the combination of blueberries and lemon is always a big hit.  This dessert is light and refreshing without being too heavy and sweet.  Perfection.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte

Peanut Butter Torte Seasons 52 Beauty and the Beets

Rich chocolate layered with a light peanut butter mousse topped with peanuts and a peanut tweal.  (I had to ask what a tweal was- it is a like brittle, only thinner and crisper.)   A dream for any fan of peanut butter and chocolate.

Belgian Chocolate S’More

Belgian Chocolate S'More Seasons 52 Beauty and the Beets

A fancy twist to your campfire S’More.  A chocolate brownie topped with  rich chocolate pudding garnished with a lightly charred marshmallow and topped with a chocolate dipped cookie with a graham cracker sprinkling.  Chocolate gratification for any palate.  Try this with a rich red wine such as the Catena Vista Flores Malbec as recommended by the staff.

Butterscotch Budino with Salted Caramel

Butterscotch Budino Seasons 52 Beauty and the Beets

A creamy butterscotch Italian custard topped with sweet caramel and Hawaiian Sea Salt.  This little dessert melts in your mouth and triggers all your taste buds from the sweet to the salty.  The sea salt was intense with the incredible sweetness of the butterscotch and caramel.

Key Lime Meringue Pie

Key Lime Pie Seasons 52 Beauty and the Beets

Possibly the most popular of all the desserts, the Key Lime Pie is a constant staple on the menu.  Every season it is tweaked and perfected.  This new version has a dollop of toasted meringue atop layers of a key lime filling and a graham cracker crust.  Another one that danced with all your taste buds from tart to sweet.

Pecan Pie with Vanilla Bean Mousse

Another of my favorites, this is a classic Southern tradition.  The perfect pecan pie stuffed into the glass topped with a creamy sweet vanilla mousse.  Delightful and rich, not even your Grandma’s recipe can compete with this one.

Carrot Cake with Cinnamon Honey

It’s Carrot Cake.  Spicy and sweet but this one is topped with a layer of cinnamon honey.  An amazing twist from the traditional cream cheese frosting variety.

Mocha Macchiato

Mocha Macchiato Seasons 52 Beauty and the Beets

Not your Starbucks Macchiato, this dessert is the perfect ending to your meal.  The term “Macchiato” actually means marked, and this confection is “marked” throughout with coffee mocha and cream.  This is wonderful paired with a pour of the Warre Otima 10 year Tawny Port as recommended by the staff.

Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cannoli

If you try only one thing on the dessert menu, the Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cannoli is the one.  Raspberry sauce swirled into a vanilla custard with chocolate chips and a crunchy cannoli.   It is light and airy yet sweet and hearty.  This one works well paired with the Selbach-Oster Riesling Auslese, a sweet white wine as recommended by the staff.

As you can see, there wasn’t a single dessert I didn’t like.  I did, however, have my own personal favorites as I noted.  Some offerings may vary depending on different regions but I promise you there will be something amazing to satisfy your sweet tooth.  Which dessert do you think will be your favorite?  Which one can you not wait to try?

NOTE: While I was invited by Seasons 52 to sample the dessert menu, all opinions and thoughts are my own. I also did not assign Sprouts ratings here as I only tasted the desserts this visit.

I thought your review was so helpful. I went to the one in Orlando, Florida as well, and I didn't even hesitate what to order from their dessert selection. My two favorites were the raspberry chocolate chip cannoli, and the carrot cake with cinnamon and honey. Delicious!

Each one is a tempting little work of art...

I'd probably eat any of them.

You ask a VERY HARD question - I want them ALL but if I had to choose, I would pick the Butterscotch Budino. BUT they all sound incredible. I never knew what macchiato meant - I learn something from you all the time.
