It’s Friday again! Is anyone else feeing like summer is flying by? I have been trying to enjoy these summer days- the end of August will begin a very busy fall for me. I always love Fridays as it is a time I sit back and reflect on what has made me happy over the past week. This week brought me cookies and Justin Timberlake. Oh, and I had a hamburger. I’ll explain later.
This week has also ended my month long blogging challenge- NaBloPoMo over at BlogHer. I signed on to publish a post everyday on my blog during July- it was very difficult. I am so happy it is over. I did learn a lot about my own blogging habits and inspirations.
Let’s get right into my Friday Favorites for August 1, 2014. It’s August already!
1. Oatmeal Dark Chocolate Pecan Salted Caramel Bar Cookies
Chad and I recently visited a new bakery in Orlando called Se7en Bites Bake Shop. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast including these Oatmeal Dark Chocolate Pecan Salted Bar Cookies (say that 3 times real fast!) If you live in Orlando it is worth the line to check it out.
2. This dress from C.Wonder
I’ve been eyeing this dress from C. Wonder for quite some time. When it finally went on sale at 50% off I knew I either had to erase it from my memory forever or break down and buy it. Well, Chad bought it for me. Now I am on the lookout for the perfect pair of shoes. Isn’t it so pretty?
3. Vegetable Sushi
Speaking of Chad, I’ve been trying to get him to board the sushi train with me for a long time and I am slowly winning him over. We’ve been out for sushi twice in the last month. He doesn’t try the raw fish variety but we’ve been enjoying some of the different types of vegetable rolls. We’ve tried new ingredients like Japanese pickles, Gobo and Kanpyo. As I am eating more on the Vegan side I am learning that the vegetable rolls are just as tasty as the raw fish.
4. Bring It On Down To Veganville!
Justin Timberlake dressed as a giant piece of tofu. Do I need to say anymore? One of my most favorite Saturday Night Live skits ever.
5. We finally have a Shake Shack in Orlando
And if you are Vegan this place is not for you. There is nothing on the menu that is Vegan except for the fries. Even the Vegetarian Mushroom burger is breaded and fried with cheese. However, I was fortunate enough to have been invited to the Shake Shack housewarming party and I got to experience the restaurant first hand. I did have a few bites of an actual hamburger (as I will do at events like this) and it was pretty good. I can see why the place is so popular with the meat eating crowd. It just won’t be a go to destination for Chad and I. I am happy, however, that Orlando is continuing to grow with trendy restaurants. Orlando is so much more than home to a whale and a mouse.
So from the ending of NaBloPoMo to Veggie Sushi to Shake Shack burgers, it was a fun and busy week and I am looking forward to a quiet weekend.
Thanks to Heather at Housewife Glamour as always for hosting the weekly Friday Favorites link up.
What are your plans for the weekend?

Yeah, if you'd have told me a few years ago I'd rather go for sushi than to the trendy new burger joint I wouldn't have believed you.

Ahh! That SNL skit is definitely one of my all-time favorites as well. I just love JT on that show. I vote that he has a permanent spot! Thanks so much for linking up... enjoy the weekend! xo
