As you can see, my staff and I have been working hard over this long Thanksgiving weekend trying to get the updated version of the "Beauty and the Beets" website up and running. This is a picture of a typical business meeting with me and three of my staff members- here we are designing and discussing the new logo. However, it appears that some of us were designing and discussing more than others.... [continue reading...]
Disney Part 2 – The Hollywood Studios
The Hollywood Studios - formerly known as The Disney/MGM Studios. Back in my day we called it MGM. It will always be MGM to me. My ol' stomping grounds. I worked in entertainment here - I marched down Hollywood Boulevard in the parades, I danced across the stages in a couple of shows, greeted guests and signed autographs while dressed in silly costumes. Chad had never visited the Studios so I was thrilled to be showing him my old 'hood. The very first thing we did was head over to [continue reading...]
Disney Part 1 – Epcot
Ah- the perks of living in Central Florida - we can spend a day at any of the area theme parks without needing plane tickets or hotel rooms - today we chose Disney and our adventures started at Epcot. The very first thing we did was go snag some fast passes to Test Track. We then stood in the stand-by line for 45 minutes (worth it) to see Soarin' in the Land Pavilion. This ride is not for those afraid of heights- to ease my fear I told the girl strapping me into my seat that I am afraid of [continue reading...]
Savannah Marathon or bust
In this case the Savannah Marathon was a bust..well sort of....I was planning on completing my first half marathon (notice I used the word completing as opposed to running.) Unfortunately, I had been battling the flu the few days before so we decided it was best that I don't run/walk/over-exert myself. Chad was running his second FULL marathon. We drove up to Savannah Friday night -stopping at Cracker Barrel for some pre-race fuel then we checked into the hotel and got some sleep. 4:45am [continue reading...]
Update on our new friend….
The child can eat- did we adopt a kitten or a little piggy? Oh well- either way- Lenore is cute, adorable and she loves her Daddy. Although I have to remind Mr. Beet that we are trying not to eat meat- Well there is certainly something about Mr. Beet that animals just love- and Lenore is no exception- she just seems to naturally flock to him- well, he can't complain too much- it appears Lenore may just be an Indianapolis Colts fan as she spent Sunday evening watching football with her [continue reading...]
Introducing Lenore Raven Poe
Meet Lenore Raven Poe. She was found next to the Edgar Allen Poe house at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. She was being passed around our Poe cast and she seemed to be relishing the attention. The cool thing was that we were all dressed as scary looking people- some of us have axes in our heads- some have us have very elaborate scary makeup but none of that phased her. A few people were making phone calls to see if they could take her home but it wasn't looking like she was going [continue reading...]
