How much I love Daytona Beach

Share the love :)

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. All opinions are 100% mine.

When the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau asked me if I would be interested in writing a travel article about Daytona Beach I did not even have to pause to think about it. I love Daytona Beach. First of all, for us it is close to home. Second of all, there is so much to do in the area- our days in Daytona Beach are never the same.

When I mention “us” taking trips to Daytona Beach I am referring to my partner in crime- Mr. Beet. He and I are travel enthusiasts- it seems we are always somewhere on the road. We always seek out new experiences, new places to explore and certainly meet the locals and make new friends. I have a running list of things we still have to see and do in Daytona Beach- one of which is the Greek Festival starting this upcoming Thursday and runs through Sunday (November 12-15, 2015).  Visiting Greece is on my travel bucket list but until then I will have to visit local Greek institutions to get my fix. Like this festival.

This will be my first year attending and I am looking forward to the food. However, I have been told there will also be authentic live Greek dancing and entertainment, Greek craft tables and servings of Ouzo and Greek wine. Did I mention the entire event is free? Free admission and free parking. Interested? Get more information here – festival capital of Florida

Speaking of free things to do- also on my bucket list is a trip to the Southeast Museum of Photography and a tour of The Casements, the former winter home of John D. Rockefeller. See other free activities here – free things to do in Daytona Beach

There’s plenty of things to do – great for couples, or with kid friendly options. Personally I want to climb the 203 steps to the top of the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse.

OK- other things on my Daytona Beach bucket list- visit the manatees at Blue Springs Park and zipline over Tuscawilla Park. Want more ideas? Here’s some – outdoor fun

Two more things I want to share-

check out the the beach awaits Daytona Beach webcam.

and check out this video with even more insights into Daytona Beach.
