I have a hack for seasoning that ends up in the bottom of the popcorn bowl – and a festive and spicy nacho popcorn seasoning recipe from my new book the “Quick and Easy Vegetarian Cookbook”.
Since I got my hot air popcorn popper last year, popcorn has become a weekly thing in my house during movie night. I started with just adding melted butter and salt. Eventually, I traded in the salt and butter for a healthy sprinkle of nutritional yeast. But I did not like how the seasoning didn’t seem to ever stay on the kernels.
I also got bored of just adding one flavor to my popcorn, when I knew I had spices in the kitchen I could throw together and make my own popcorn seasoning. And this nacho popcorn seasoning became my go-to popcorn topping.
This seasoning is so popular in my house, that I added it to my new cookbook – the “Quick and Easy Vegetarian Cookbook”.
One thing I do not like about popcorn seasoning is that most of it ends up in a pile at the bottom of the bowl. I want a little seasoning on each popcorn kernel, don’t you? Here’s my popcorn seasoning hack-
Very lightly spray the popcorn with olive oil. And I mean, lightly. The seasoning does not need a lot of oil to stick to the kernel, but too much olive oil will make the popcorn soggy.
This nacho popcorn recipe is one of 75 new recipes I created for the “Quick and Easy Vegetarian Cookbook”. All the recipes fall into either one or more categories: 30 minutes or less, 5-ingredients, off the shelf, no cook, or one pot.
I hope you enjoy this nacho popcorn recipe and I hope you enjoy the book!
